Missing Hoopa senior found by citizen

HOOPA, CA. – A Hoopa senior who had gone missing is found.

70-year-old Rudy Lee Inong was in the Big Hill area of Hoopa Wednesday morning hunting for mushrooms.

When his son went to check on him late that evening, his vehicle was vacant, with a dog left tied to the bumper.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, Hoopa Valley Tribal Police and Hoopa citizens commenced a search.

Inong was found by a Hoopa resident Thursday morning on Highway 96 at Mill Creek.

He had been in the Mill Creek drainage when it got dark, and decided he would wait overnight to find the road, and is now home safe.
