Bite out of Blight: Del Norte volunteers cleanup ‘scores’ of drug needles, multiple tons of waste

DEL NORTE COUNTY, CA. – Del Norte County community members join forces to take “a bite out of blight”.

Over 50 volunteers came together for a massive cleanup this weekend on Department of Fish and Wildlife land, along Highway 101 near Crescent City.

Participants say ‘scores of drug needles’ were found among the debris and were carefully disposed of.

Altogether, they hauled out an estimated four to seven tons of trash from the area – overfilling three large waste bins.

County leaders called the day a major success.
