Motorcyclist killed in Southern Humboldt after crashing off 50-foot embankment

BRICELAND, Calif. (KIEM) – A motorcyclist is killed after veering off a cliff on Briceland Thorn Road.

At about 5PM on Monday, emergency crews were called to the scene near Huckleberry Hill, after the motorcycle driver, for reasons unknown, crashed off the 50 foot embankment.

A helicopter was called in an attempt to transfer the man to the hospital.

After CPR efforts were made, the Humboldt County Coroner was requested just before 7PM.

The victim’s name will not be released until his family is notified.

The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation on the crash, and any witnesses should contact them.
