Humboldt State University earns 8 year accreditation

Humboldt State University earns an eight year accreditation by the WASC Senior Commission for Universities and Colleges.

The organization highlighted student’s strong commitment to the environment and social justice. In its letter formalizing the action, they honored the university in five specific areas from strength of academic programs, to aligning curricular programs with academic goals. The organization also made recommendations to the university to further enhance student success.

WASC is recognized by the U.S Department of Education, which certifies eligibility for funding for a number of programs. They certify institutions in California, Hawaii, and the Pacific.
