National Assisted Living Week

McKinleyville, Ca., (KIEM)- Timber Ridge in McKinleyville is looking to the week ahead.
Monday, September 10, marks the start of National Assisted Living Week.

Many adults age 65 and over battle isolation and loneliness that can seriously impact their emotional and physical health, which is why many of them will consider assisted living as they get older. However, more people should look into assisted living as they get older, as this can help beat their loneliness. This year, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will be recognizing the awareness week. 4th District Supervisor Ryan Sundberg plans to be present at the Timber Ridge festivities. They begin with a biodegradable balloon release in which purple balloons, filled with positive messages meant to “capture the moment” and celebrate life at any stage are set free in the north coast sky.

It is really important for people who need assistance in their lives to feel that they are supported and can go on living their lives like normal. There is a really good reason behind assisted living, and that is that it allows people to live their life to the fullest. Without it, many would struggle. Assisted living can provide comfort, support, and even entertainment. Companies like Lakeside Manor Assisted Living can create a sense of comfort that many adults over the age of 65 miss out on. Without assisted living, a lot of people would struggle.

This is why this week is really important in bringing awareness for assisted living. It is really important that people over 65 realize that they are not a burden and can, in fact, live their life to the fullest in their old age. Being old doesn’t have to put a stop to things, it just means you have to do things a bit differently. But that shouldn’t stop you from having the best time of your life! You should make sure that you celebrate everyone moment you have and enjoy the peace and quiet if you can. Just know that you can, as you can do whatever you want with the help of assisted living.
