Monday, September 10, marks the start of National Assisted Living Week.

Many adults age 65 and over battle isolation and loneliness that can seriously impact their emotional and physical health, which is why many of them will consider assisted living as they get older. This year, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will be recognizing the awareness week. 4th District Supervisor Ryan Sundberg plans to be present at the Timber Ridge festivities. They begin with a biodegradable balloon release in which purple balloons, filled with positive messages meant to “capture the moment” and celebrate life at any stage are set free in the north coast sky.
