Local first responders train to help those with mental health disorders

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM)-According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, one out of four people are suffering from some type of mental illness. And in some cases, stressful situation can cause those with a mental illness to harm themselves or others. To combat this, DHHS, along with the national alliance on mental illness, are training local first responders, how to support these community members, in times of need.
