Eureka, Ca., (KIEM) Halloween celebrations continue in Humboldt County Sunday. Locals came out to show their wild side for the annual spooktacular Halloween celebration, Boo at the Zoo, an event that has been around for over a decade.

The Sequoia Park Zoo Foundation welcomed the community to a day of fun and friendly-fright. Families in all sorts of costumes toured the zoo and children were able to engage in face painting, games, costume contest and parades. Visitors even got a chance to witness the animal Pumpkin Stomp and Chomp where the animals got to have a little pumpkin play all day long.

“The perfect opportunity for family and friends of all ages to come and enjoy our wonderful area,” shared Kate Baldwin, Activities Coordinator for the Sequoia Park Zoo’s Educations Department. “It’s a great opportunity for those who haven’t been to the zoo in a while to bring the whole family out to enjoy.”

Baldwin said a portion of the admission purchases will go towards helping out conservation projects both locally and globally.
