Camp Fire now at 111,000 acres, 25 percent contained

PARADISE, Ca- California’s most destructive fire rages on in Butte County. As of late Sunday night, 29 people are dead and more than 228 are missing.

First spotted early Thursday morning, the Camp Fire has grown to over 111,000 acres.

Thousands of residents have been forced from their homes with more ordered to evacuate. The town of Paradise has all but been wiped off the map.

Some of those who perished were found in vehicles where they were overcome by the fire. Others were discovered in or near homes.

According to Cal Fire, nearly 6,500 homes have been destroyed and some 15,000 structures are threatened by the blaze.
