Eureka NAACP sends letter to CSU Chancellor

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) As Humboldt State University continues the search for a new president, the Eureka Chapter NAACP has sent a letter to university leaders.

This comes after Lisa Rossbacher, current HSU president announced that she will retire from the California State University System after the 2018-19 academic year

In a letter to the chancellor, the NAACP asks the university to choose a president willing to address and confront racial issues on campus.

The group said in wake of the recent events with Josiah Lawson and Corey Clark, the university will need to hire someone who will prioritize needs for minority students on campus.
