Fortuna, Ca. (KIEM) – A tragedy took place hundreds of miles away. The feeling hits close to home for our local officers.

Flags were lowered at half-staff today, in honor of the fallen officer Ronil Singh. Our men and women behind the badge know all too well the dangers of the job, but that doesn’t stop them from doing their best to protect the community. Fortuna’s Chief of Police says, it’s not uncommon for an officer to put the lives of others, above themselves.
