Hungerford dismissed as CR men’s basketball coach

EUREKA, Ca(KIEM)- An already difficult season for College of the Redwoods men’s basketball, the team is now without its head coach.

Aaron Hungerford has been dismissed of his head coaching duties at the college for violation of department policy. Hungerford was arrested early in the morning on Christmas Eve for DUI.

The Corsairs have yet to win a game this season at 0-15. They begin Golden Valley Conference play on January 5, against Shasta.

Women’s assistant coach Darren Turpin will take over as the interim head coach and also continue to help with the women’s program. He will be assisted by women’s head coach Jain Tuey.
