Pilot Fire grows to 30 acres near Willow Creek

WILLOW CREEK (KIEM)- The 30 acre Pilot Fire was reported Tuesday afternoon in eastern Humboldt County.

CalFire tells us its burning southwest of Willow Creek in the Pilot Rock area off of US Forest Service Route 1. There are 2 engines, two hand crews and a chief officer at the scene.

While there is no containment, crews are expected to make progress with cooler temperatures and a rising humidity.

The cause is under investigation.
