Willits man dead after solo crash

Mendocino County– One man is dead after a solo crash near Willits.

At around 10 p.m. Sunday, 34-year-old, David Amador of Willits, was traveling westbound on state route 20 when he lost control of his Honda CRV at a high rate of speed. Amador failed to negotiate a left curve going off the roadway, thru a fence and down an embankment, striking a tree.

Amador was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision was not discovered for 14 hours. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor. The collision is still under investigation.
