Orick woman dies in solo crash at Stone Lagoon

STONE LAGOON (KIEM)- One woman is dead after a solo crash in northern Humboldt. It happened just after one Tuesday afternoon near Stone Lagoon.

A Ford Expedition driven by 26 year-old Tina Siders of Orick, was traveling southbound on Highway 101. The SUV failed to make a left turn and went off the roadway and down an embankment. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop near the shoreline.

A boater in the area was able to rescue Siders and her one year-old son. They were both transported to Mad River Hospital for treatment.

Another passenger, 56 year-old Laura Siders, also of Orick, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
