New Dollar General near high school raises concerns

EUREKA, CA. (KIEM) – Concerned McKinleyville High School parents are waiting in anticipation on the approval or denial, of a liquor license for a nearby Dollar General. The low-cost variety store is nearing its opening day and currently, California’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Control is still investigating the community’s complaints. Our Dru Miller has the latest.

Redwood News has reached out to Dollar General, below is their response to the communities concerns.

“Dollar General is sensitive to community concerns and abides by all applicable laws. We are committed to selling alcoholic beverages in a safe and responsible manner by thoroughly training employees and implementing policies including strict zero-tolerance ID checks and no on-premise consumption.”
