Caregivers plan to protest in front of St. Joseph Hospital this week

In the midst of the hospital staffing crisis, St. Joseph caregivers plan to hold a rally on Thursday to protest the latest layoffs.

Nurses say two radiology technicians were laid off last week, marking the second layoffs since caregivers declared a staffing emergency at the hospital.

According to National Union of Healthcare Workers, last October the hospital laid off 25 caregivers. The caregivers will protest in front of the hospital on Dolbeer Street from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
