Bridgeville man behind bars after traffic stop uncovers large amount of stolen and illegal firearms

BRIDGEVILLE, CA. (KIEM) –A Bridgeville man is behind bars after a traffic stop uncovers a large amount of stolen and illegal firearms.

Around 9 Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol stopped 50 year-old Jared Meyer on State Route 36 near Bridgeville. In the vehicle, officers located an unregistered AR-15, two stolen handguns, and two 30 round high capacity magazines. 2.5 grams of Meth was also found.

Meyer who was driving on a suspended license was transported to the Humboldt County Jail.

He was booked on charges of possession of an assault rifle, loaded firearms and stolen property.
