DEL NORTE COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The Del Norte County Board of Supervisors unanimously passed a 10 month extension on banning Commercial Cannabis within Yurok tribal lands.
Back in early January, the board approved a 45-day urgency ordinance to establish restrictions on accepting applications for cannabis activity on tribal reservations. That will expire February 22nd.
The Yurok Tribe currently has a zero tolerance policy for cultivation, because they want to make the community a healthier and safer place.
Tribal members want to use the 10 months to be able to have government meetings with the board of supervisors and Yurok Tribal Council.
