Trinidad City Council member asks for leave of absence

TRINIDAD, Ca. (KIEM)- A Trinidad City Council member is asking for a leave of absence.

Council member Jim Baker wrote in a letter to Mayor Steve Ladwig, requesting to leave his duties as a Trinidad City Council member until April 1st of this year. This is so he can assist his wife Joan in her ongoing medical condition.

If council approves Baker’s request, they will be one person down in the middle of their search for Trinidad’s next City Manager. City staffers tell Redwood News that they are narrowing down the list of candidates, and hope to select a new city manager within four weeks.

The Trinidad City Council meeting is Wednesday night at 6 in Town Hall.
