SAMOA (KIEM)- A section of Samoa Beach was closed Wednesday after a suspicious cylinder was found.
It was located by a woman in the sand at around 11:30am. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team consulted with the Beale Air Force Base EOD unit and determined the cylinder was a marine flare.
The Samoa Peninsula Volunteer Fire Department and Coast Guard also responded to the scene.
