Kids Sit Inside Sheriff’s Sno-Cat at Public Safety Sunday

MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca. (KIEM) – Kids got to look inside and take photos on the Sheriff’s Sno-Cat, at Public Safety Sunday.

Over 20 local agencies came out into the community Sunday afternoon at Pierson Park in McKinleyville. Kids were able to interact with the different departments, and experience being inside their equipment like the Coast Guard and CHP’s helicopters.

One 12-year-old boy was excited to have this type of exposure with Public Safety because he wants to go into the Military one day.

“I like the Coast Guards and stuff, because they’re pretty cool to look at. All the complicated controls and stuff is pretty fun to look at and watch,” said Makade Parker, 12, of Eureka.

The event was put together by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce.
