Man sentenced to 33 months, supervised probation for stealing 55 guns

EUREKA, CA (KIEM)- A former Eureka man is sentenced to 33 months behind bars and 3 years supervised probation after he was convicted of stealing a large amount of guns.

19 year-old Jesse Marquez plead guilty to breaking into a Eureka business located on the 1600 hundred block of 5th Street back in August of 2015.

Marquez breached a rooftop sky light at the business and entered the upstairs level of the building and disarmed the alarm. He then put 55 handguns in several backpacks before leaving.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Eureka Police assisted in the case.
