EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)- After a successful track and field career in high school, CR’s Jarid Jorgensen endured some growing pains at the college level. But with hard work, Jorgensen put it all together for his sophomore season.
The Fortuna grad started to see the results he wanted and kept on improving each and every meet. His second time around at Nor-Cal’s ended with second place finishes in both the discuss and hammer. The effort earned him a trip to the state meet.
Just last weekend, Jorgensen competed at the Community College State Championships at the College of San Mateo. Facing the top athletes, he took seventh in the discus and 9th in the hammer.
Jorgensen still has some classes to take before he can graduate. He doesn’t know what the future holds but told us he’s not done with track and field just yet.
