Humboldt State University Announces Tom Jackson, Jr. as New University President

ARCATA (KIEM) – Humboldt State University has officially named its newest president.

Tom Jackson, Jr. has been declared the eighth president of HSU. He is the first African American to serve in this role. Jackson currently serves as the president of Black Hills State University in South Dakota. The incoming president says, he looks forward to working with the faculty, staff, and students of the university.

Psalms Palmer, a student at HSU, says she is looking forward to Jackson’s new term, and hopes he brings positive to change to the school and campus life.

Jackson will joining the campus in July. He succeeds incumbent university President Lisa Rossbacher, who will be retiring at the end of next month.
