Village Housing Project Revisited At Arcata City Hall Meeting

Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) — The proposed village housing project was once again a topic of discussion at tonight’s Arcata City Council meeting.

Community members took advantage of public comment to raise concerns and share an overall opposition to the project. The focus was on traffic, parking, and wastewater usage and fees. In response, the council called for an independent review of the environmental impact report that addresses these issues. Some residents worry the community does not have access to updated information and their voices are not being heard.

Moving forward, no final decisions can be made until all environmental concerns are resolved. The council will revisit the project once the independent review is complete.
