First Flight From Denver Arrives At Humboldt County Airport

McKinleyville, Ca. (KIEM) — The very first flight from Denver arrived tonight at Humboldt County Airport. Passengers were welcomed by airport staff, loved ones, and even a party.

The flight touched down a few minutes after 9 o’clock tonight. Flights to and from Denver have been in the works for the last seven years. As the plane came down the runway, a fire truck sprayed water over it in celebration. Passengers got off the plane to applause and a reception in the terminal full of food, drinks, and music. All the passengers on the flight got goodie bags with souvenirs from Humboldt County and tour guides. The airport was looking for a destination that could better connect the area with other parts of the country.

With the first flight in the books, the Humboldt County Airport will now offer daily service to and from Denver.
