PG&E USING AERIAL PATROLS TO SPOT FIRES

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)- PG&E has begun daily aerial patrols to spot wildfires in the North Coast.

This is their sixth year for early fire detection and response and have partnered with US Forest Service, Cal Fire, and local fire agencies. Early detection allows agencies to respond quicker and more accurate.

Patrols began on June 1st and continue through October 31st.

Seven planes fly the daily route from late afternoon until dusk, when wildfires are prone to start.

Aerial patrols are just one tool that PG&E uses to reduce the risk of wildfires.
