Inclusive Disaster Planning Workshop Held in Eureka

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The California State Council on Developmental Disabilities held an inclusive disaster planning and preparedness workshop in partnership with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services today.

The workshop focused on how to prepare for disasters that may occur here in Humboldt County. They went over a variety of things including how to put together an emergency kit and other things you should have on hand, the importance of having an evacuation plan for you and your family, and the different resources that are available here in Humboldt County. People were also able to get any questions they may have answered.

According to the office of emergency services, it’s all about making sure everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency no matter their ability.
