Samoa, Ca. (KIEM) — Head out to the Samoa drag strip this Saturday and Sunday for the Western Pro Extreme motorcycle drag race. It’s the third event of the 2019 season and is in partnership with Bikes by the Bay.
Earlier today, racers and fans were out at redwood Harley Davidson to show off some of the bikes that will be racing this weekend. The race has been going on for the last six years.
Participants will be competing for money, trophies, and of course, bragging rights. They also offer the all bike shoot out which is open to all bikes and riders that wish to participate.
Redwood news had the chance to talk to one of the race promoters, James Surber. For him, one reason he got involved is because racing has turned into a family affair. Both he and his daughter race motorcycles here in Humboldt County.
If you don’t have plans this weekend, make sure to check out both the western pro extreme and bikes by the bay races this Saturday and Sunday at the Samoa drag strip.
