Eureka Housing Draft Element

EUREKA (KIEM)– The City of Eureka is excited about the updates to the fifth cycle of the Eureka Draft Housing Element.

The housing element identifies the need for housing in the community and the city’s strategy to address housing needs.

It’s designed to achieve objectives set forth in state law.

The city has developed specific strategies to stimulate the creation of housing catering to the uniqueness of eureka.

The city does not offer much available land for new housing developments, so the strategy is different this time around.

The element opens a new chapter for Eureka and allows for them to focus on realistic means for generating new housing.
