Head of Eureka’s Development Services Announces Resignation

EUREKA (KIEM)- The head of Eureka’s Development Services Department has announced his resignation.

The news came Tuesday to key city officials by the Eureka City Manager’s Office regarding Rob Holmlund’s resignation.

Holmlund was hired back in 2014 and oversaw numerous large city initiatives, including the update to the city’s general plan.

He played a crucial role in planning the eviction of homeless encampments at the Palco Marsh.

Holmlund is the second high-profile person to announce his departure from city government in the past few weeks.

Redwood news reached out to Holmlund’s office, but did not receive a response.

Holmlunds’ last day is on September 5th.
