Betty Chin Gives Away Backpacks

EUREKA (KIEM)– Back to school is right around the corner and the Betty Kwan Chin Day Center is helping to put those who may be less fortunate at ease.

Well, with the help of the Betty Kwan Chin Day Center, they gave out backpacks to help those get ready for the new school year.

Backpacks are continuing to rise in cost and can be hard for families struggling to make ends meet.

Betty Chin along with staff members came in and was able to raise enough money to get enough backpacks. They gave out over 200 backpacks.

Chin believes this helps give the children a confidence boost for the new school year, this helps alleviate embarrassment for those who cannot afford the necessary items needed for the start of the school year.
