Arcata Police Department asks Council for new vehicles and employee

ARCATA, Ca (KIEM) – The Arcata Police Department is asking the City Council for two 2020 Hybrid vehicles and to hire an Evidence and Property Technician.

The evidence and property technician position is a civilian job. They will be responsible for processing a crime by preserving the scene and the evidence.

Also, the department wants two new vehicles so they can rotate out their high mileage ones. They will purchase them from Harper Ford, and the total cost is over $87,000 for both.

Arcata City Council meets Wednesday night at six in City Hall.
