Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) — Officers at Humboldt State University cast a vote of no confidence in current Police Chief Donn Peterson.

According to the Statewide University Police Association, 9 out of 10 officers voted against the chief, and one voter abstained. SUPA conducts annual leadership surveys at each CSU campus. This year’s unanimous vote of no confidence in Peterson aligns with previous year’s results.

One complaint among officers is that Peterson spends too much time away from campus. Chief Peterson took the job at HSU after leaving the Florida Broward County Sheriff’s Department. He regularly spends time out of state with family in Florida.
