Mobile Health Clinic Serves the Homeless Community

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The Open Door Community Health Center’s mobile health clinic was down at St. Vincent de Paul’s dining facility to help the homeless community.

The mobile van is a fully functioning health clinic. Patients are first checked in, then are able to see a medical provider for any health issues they may have. The mobile clinic has an exam room, a lab, and other equipment all on board. They have been providing mobile health services to those in need for the last 10 years.

We spoke with an open door’s site administrator who says it’s all about bringing resources to a group of people who normally do not have access or those who have had unpleasant experiences with health care providers in the past.

The mobile van is out at various locations during the week. For more information, you can call (707) 443-4666.
