CHP Implementing Maximum Enforcement For Holiday Week

Humboldt County (KIEM)– Thanksgiving is a couple of days away and as motorists are heading out for the holiday, California Highway Patrol is preparing for the busy week ahead.

CHP will implement a maximum enforcement period to help keep motorists safe.

The MEP will begin at 6:01 on Wednesday evening and continue through 11:59 Sunday night.

All officers will be on duty actively looking for unsafe drivers such as impaired or distracted driving, driving over the speed limits and failing to buckle up.

According to CHP, last year alone, 59 people were killed in a collision in California and nine-hundred and thirty-one arrests were made.
