Crab Season to Start Next Week

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – Crab season opens next week for parts of the North Coast.

The Director of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife announced commercial Dungeness crabbing will begin on Sunday, Dec. 15.

The crab season, however is only open to those south of the Mendocino-Sonoma county lines.

The Department of Fish and Wildlife are delaying the season on the North Coast to continue to monitor crab quality.

The department is hoping to open crab season in Mendocino, Humboldt, and Del Norte Counties in the coming weeks.
