Power Outage Closed Over 70 Schools on Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca (KIEM)- Many schools were closed Friday across the North Coast due to the weather-induced power loss. According to the Humboldt County Office of Education, more than 70 schools were closed today due to the power outage.

Eureka City Schools remained open, but advised students to stay home -if possible- due to the lack of heat and power in their classrooms. Now that the power has returned, schools are expected to be open on Tuesday.
