EUREKA,Ca.(KIEM) – The new fire engines are currently being built in Appleton, Wisconsin and are expected to arrive to Eureka this summer

Each engine costs around $750,000. The funding comes from capital reserve funds and a portion was financed by the City of Eureka. The previous engines were almost thirty years old and needed to be updated. Having the new fire engines will assist crews and help them when they are in rural areas.

Some of the features include lower installed hoses to fight fires and a cleaner cab concept to keep firefighters safe.
