Coast Guard Aircrews Increase Flights

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – You might soon be seeing more coast guard helicopters flying in Humboldt County.

The Coast Guard Aircrews are going to be training from March 9th through the 20th.

There will be an increase in helicopter traffic at the Arcata airport, Murray airfield, and Samoa air field as flight standardization instructors from Mobile, Alabama evaluate flight proficiency and procedures.

The evaluations happen on a yearly basis and will not impact the response capability of the North Coast Guard.
