District Attorney’s Office Investigates False Advertisements for Vacation Rentals

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM)– The Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office wants to alert residents of a scam involving false advertisements for vacation rentals.

This violates the recent shelter in place order by the county. A citizen came across the advertisement on Craigslist and contacted the District Attorney’s Office.

After an investigation, the advertisement was found to be created by people from out of the area with no connections to the properties.

The owners of the properties involved have also alerted Craigslist. With a delay in the removal the District Attorney’s Office wants to make the public aware of the scam.
