Residents Can Now Schedule a Covid-19 Test at New Redwood Acres Testing Site

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The new OptumServe testing site at Redwood Acres is officially up and running. Residents are now able to schedule a Covid-19 test.

The new site is a collaboration between the state of California, the Covid-19 Testing Task Force, and the County. If you have medical insurance, OptumServe will bill the insurance company. For those without insurance, the state will cover the cost of the test. There will be no co-pay.

People can go online to https://lhi.care/covidtesting to schedule testing. Priority is given to older individuals, those with chronic conditions, health care workers, and frontline workers in essential services, but everyone is welcome to schedule a test.

According to Dr. Frankovich, the testing site not only allows for more community members to be tested, but is also proof that the county is following guidelines laid out by the state in order to move forward.

If you don’t have access to the internet, you can schedule an appointment over the phone by calling 888-634-1123.
