New Eureka pizza shop, now open

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)-North Coast residents now have another option when it comes to pizza.

Mod Pizza at the Pacific Plaza on Broadway Street in Eureka opened their doors for the first time today.

 A steady flow of customers could be seen ordering pies to-go, carry-out and delivery, through third-party delivery apps are also available.

The restaurant has implemented measures to keep in line with local and state guidelines to operate by allowing only 10 people inside the restaurant at a time.

To make sure guests keep a safe distance from one another stickers have been placed on the floor to indicate 6 feet distancing in the customer service line.

 General Manager Jake Howsmon says opening their doors is exciting.

“It is unreal cutting the ribbon brought me to tears in a way. I am so excited for this place.

For the community, we’re going to do some unreal things for them.” Howsmon said. “We’re going make some great pizza, and our motto is people before pizza.”

Online orders will be delayed temporarily to avoid overwhelming the kitchen.

Mod Pizza is open from 10:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
