Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods Emergency COVID Program Starts June 1st

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)– The Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods Emergency Covid Program starts June 1st.

After raising funds from the community and a P-P-P loan through Coast Central Credit Union the program will enable 48 children of essential workers to continue to work and serve the community while knowing their children are in a safe place.

The families of current registered members will receive priority and then the program will open up to the community. Both parents must be working and not from home.

Yesterday it was announced that the state has approved the decision-making for expanded stage two re-opening had shifted to the county.

With over 350 businesses already submitting re-opening plans and some of those already being approved, parents will be getting back to work while schools are still closed.

With new restrictions, guidelines, and social distancing protocols in place, the program will cost much more to run, then before the pandemic started. To donate go to www.bgcredwoods.org .
