Northern California Community Blood Bank in Need of Blood

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)-Before the pandemic of Covid-19 the Northern California community blood bank in Eureka had a stable amount of blood. That all changed with the shelter-in-place order for residents.

Critical as in three of the most common blood types are desperately in need… blood types like O positive, O negative and A positive. The blood bank said these are some of the most common blood types seen from people in the region.

The blood bank wants to assure the community that blood work can in no way transfer Covid-19.

the blood bank is an essential business and the staff is abiding by the county’s orders to keep their work area sanitary if you would like to donate blood, their eureka location on Harrison avenue is open every day except Sunday… the bloodmobile is active in several north coast communities including  Eureka, Fortuna, Arcata and McKinleyville.
