Betty Kwan Chinn Homeless Foundation receives $200,000 grant from state

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM) – The Betty Kwan Chinn Homeless Foundation has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development Pet Assistant and Support Program.

Chinn and her staff applied for the grant over four months ago and although they did not expect to receive much, they were awarded the maximum amount available to a single entity.

Chinn’s shelter is one of the few on the West Coast that allows pets.

Chin says understands the companionship that pets can provide for their owner and she looks forward to using this grant to help serve the homeless community and their pets.
