Humboldt County collecting more COVID-19 demographics than what is released

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – The county is collecting more COVID-19 demographics than what is being released.

According to Deputy Health Officer, Dr. Josh Ennis, Humboldt County is actively collecting information including race.

As the state begins to conduct a surveillance project that gathers more information, such as someone being an essential worker or not, the county plans to follow by participating in a similar surveillance.

This will produce more accurate information on the risk exposure of COVID-19 in the community.
