College of the Redwoods receives $20,000 grant for DACA students

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) — The College of the Redwoods Foundation receives a $20,000 grant from the Humboldt Area Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Committee.

Each DACA student who was excluded from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act Funding will receive $325 in direct payment stipends. According to CR President Dr. Keith Flamer, the grant will provide funds for over 50 students.

Students are not required to do anything to receive the funds as they will be automatically distributed to those who qualify.
