2 cases of Covid-19 reported Friday, alert level increases to level 3

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 2 new cases of Covid-19 Friday bringing the total case count for Humboldt County to 205.

The county’s alert level has increased to level 3. This is due to the recent increase in case count per 100,000 residents over a 14 day period.

On a more encouraging note, 6 more people have recovered from the virus bringing that number to 172. Right now, health officials are monitoring 29 active cases. Of the total cases, 115 had contact to a known case, 59 were travel related, and 27 were a result of community transmission.

Currently, there are 4 cases still under investigation.
