3 new cases of Covid-19 reported Thursday, total case count increases to 231

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Public Health Department reports 3 new cases of Covid-19 Thursday bringing the total case count for Humboldt County to 231. The county’s alert level remains at level 3.

According to the Joint Information Center, of Thursday’s 3 cases, 2 contracted the virus through contact with a known case and the other is still under investigation. Right now, health officials are monitoring 43 active cases. The number of recoveries remains unchanged.

Of the total cases, 121 had contact to a known case, 65 were travel related, and 31 were a result of community transmission. Currently, there are 14 cases still under investigation.
